I made a turkey sandwich this morning and took it to work with me. I forgot to put it in the fridge...

It is in a ziploc bag.

You think it's ok to eat? It doesn't smell like ecoli or anything :D

What all is on it? How long has it been sitting out? Approximately what is the room temp?

How long has it been sitting out? A general rule of thumb is over 4 hours and it's not a good idea.

Once the temp gets much above 40, nasty stuff starts multiplying rapidly.

Hmmm...

It is a turkey and honey mustard sandwich. Thin sliced lunchmeat (not dry). Wheat bread. ~71F. 7am-2:55pm (8 hours)

He could kill it by eating it and assimulate all the knowledge it had accumilated in its lifespan.

If it hasn't been cordoned off and you don't see men in biohazard suits hanging around, I say it's still good to eat.

microwave it to kill all the bad stuff.....then eat it. Just kidding, I'd just eat it.

edit: keep in mind however that I like to live dangerously;)

Me too.

But then again, I have been known to eat cheese slices I dropped on the floor. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

It was probably fine, but having had food poisoning a couple of times in my life, I sure as hell wouldn't have eaten it. :p

I did this through all of junior high and high school and for many summers during college.

I threw up after a football game once for no apparent reason... other than maybe I had a turkey and cheese and mayo sandwich for lunch that day and then played both ways for an entire game that night. I'd blame the mayo and not the turkey, though.
